What you choose to share

Your gift plan can include nicknames, recipient preferences, budgets, saved products, purchase statuses, and costs. Use nicknames and ordinary preferences rather than sensitive personal information. If you subscribe or contact us, we store the email and message or preference you provide.

Saving and accounts

Plans are saved in the Firebase Firestore database. Guest access uses an essential browser cookie. Signing in through Google connects a plan to an account identifier so it can be accessed on another device. The service does not collect your Google password.

A browser copy of your plan may also be stored on this device to protect edits when saving is interrupted. Take care on shared devices. You can download your plan and delete the saved list through your account page.

AI processing

Our server uses your brief to select eligible products. When enabled, the assistant receives that ordered shortlist of public product facts and your selected shopping style to explain options. Recipient names, account identifiers, and your free-text brief are not included in that request. Collection matching also works without making an AI request.

Google's free Gemini API terms allow submitted prompts and responses to be used to improve its products and reviewed by people. See Google's Gemini terms. Avoid entering medical, financial, identification, or other private details about recipients.

Optional dictation uses your browser’s speech service, which may process audio under that provider’s policies. Review the transcript before submitting a brief. Reading ideas aloud uses your browser’s text-to-speech function.

Household links

A household link allows anyone who has it to view the list and update saved-gift shopping statuses and costs. The owner can revoke all household links. Links expire when Holiday Plus ends.

Payments and retailer visits

When checkout is available, Stripe processes payment details. My Elf AI stores a payment-session reference and access status, rather than card numbers. Retailer links open third-party websites, where that retailer's own privacy and purchase terms apply.

Operational information

We keep aggregate counts of actions such as successful recommendations and retailer clicks to understand the service. These counts do not include recipient names, interests, or message text. Temporary limits help control abuse. We do not sell recipient profiles.

Keeping and removing information

Saved plans stay available until you delete them or request removal. Contact and subscription records are kept to handle your request or subscription; request their removal through the contact form. Subscription confirmations include an unsubscribe option. Deleting a gift list revokes its household links. Payment records may need to be retained separately.
